I've been thinking for a long time that we need to get a group of caring individuals together who would spend some time making frozen dinners for congregants who have trouble making meals for themselves. Such a project could provide meals for elderly members, members who are returning from hospital stays, or for families with someone in the hospital who find it overwhelming to spend time visiting their loved one and cooking at home too. Here's my thought: If we buy ingredients in large amounts, cook in teams at the shul, and freeze the meals at the shul, then when the office knows of someone who needs a meal or would benefit from a meal, it would be ready for delivery.
The advantage of doing it this way, is that men/women who like to cook can join together for an hour or two of fun in the kitchen and the benefits to others will be immeasurable.
Let me know if you are interested in this project. ( Cooking would probably take place on a Sunday afternoon).

At minimum, I can help do this by rearranging the freezer contents so there is room to put frozen meals.
