Summer time often brings opportunities for travel. This summer was very special for many TI members because it provided the opportunity to visit Israel and experience the Jewish Homeland in a very up close and personal way.
After almost all of the tour participants returned home, I stayed on to attend the Pardes Institute's Executive Learning Seminar. Before attending this seminar, my 8th , I was concerned that I would not find the learning as exhilarating. I was wrong! We studied about the Return to Zion via the Books of Ezra and Nehemiah, learned about Modern Zionism, and talked about the challenges of being a Jewish State in today's world. Although many of my "old" friends were not in attendance this year, the topic itself was fascinating, the teaching and discussions were stellar, and the opportunity to learn in Jerusalem was still awe-inspiring.
In my case, I have no doubt that spending the money on travel, made my life richer.
