As many times as I've been in Yerushalyim and visiting the Kotel, it never seems to lose its very special nature. To see that after 2,000 years we have the opportunity to worship here, to walk beneath the city road in the tunnels that lead to the closest place one could get to the former Holy Temple is indeed a privilege of having been born in this day and age.
On our way to the Old City, we had a driver who had fought in the '67 war. He was born prior to the War of Independence and remembers going daily to school in the Old City. He also told us about recapturing the Old City when he was a young man. Even the cab drivers have so much pride in this place and have a story to tell about regaining the right to worship in the part of the city where our ancestors have lived for over 3,000 years. It is all very moving!
