A Tribute to Leo Hill...a Mountain of a Man

Today was an amazing Shabbat. I had been looking forward to having Leo Hill share the story of how Tifereth Israel moved into our current building. What I didn't realize was how his story would reflect the hard work and dedication of so many individuals who had the foresight to plan for the reality that we are now enjoying. Without Leo's talents and knowledge of resources that were available in Lincoln, Tifereth Israel would not have been built with the various spaces that still allow us to have small minyanim, classes for children, performances on our stage, services that can accommodate large numbers, kosher luncheons and dinners, and formal and informal get-togethers. I have only the highest admiration for the work he did and for his ability to communicate the story with clarity and a twinkle in his eye. We are indeed blessed to have him as part of our community.
