A Letter to the Editor that Never Got Printed....

When attacks occurred in Paris and Belgium the world mourned the loss of so many.  The media covered those horrific occurrences and acknowledged that they were terrorist attacks.  Yesterday, June 8, 2016, an attack occurred in Tel Aviv at the Sarona Market and although broadcast media covered it, the Lincoln Journal Star managed to give it only 12 full lines of coverage on page A10 in a section called “At a Glance.”  As disconcerting as the placement of the article was, the headline given to it was also misleading.  It said, “Gunmen Kill Four at Tel Aviv Market.” Frankly, if you’re looking for honest reporting, the article should have said, “Four Israelis were killed and 16 were wounded in a terror attack in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night, when two Palestinian gunmen went on a shooting rampage in a popular marketplace located across the street from military headquarters.” (http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/1.724018)  When the terms “terror attack” and “Palestinian gunmen” are eliminated from an article as reported in the Journal Star it leads me to believe that somehow the world excuses the killing of Israelis and does not rebuke Palestinian terrorists who kill civilians and innocents in the streets.
