Another Summer Experience Finished- Camp Israel

Soul Train, a program that comes out of Israel, sent us two camp counselors who ran a camp for the community's young children. What a wonderful experience for Lincoln's Jewish community. The children gathered together at Tifereth Israel on Mondays- Fridays for two weeks from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. They davened together, played together, learned together and most of all enjoyed being Jewish in a fun setting. The highlight of their experience was meeting a brother/sister team from Petach Tikvah...Tzipporah and Yonadav Tapuchi. They introduced the kids to Hebrew, the Jewish calendar/holidays, Israeli culture, and Jewish values. Personally, I think it is an amazing opportunity for children of the synagogue and temple to interact with each other in such a positive setting. As my granddaughter said last night, "When is camp coming again?" I too hope it will be scheduled for next year.
